A Prayer

Lord,

Please save this nation. This country called the PHILIPPINES.

This is the only nation, in the modern age of technology, that will proclaim a national leader after one month of manually counting the ballots. With that, Lord, please... do not give us a Senator Trillanes or another Senator Honasan.

We do not want cowards in that august chamber called our Senate. I do not know who among our people voted for these cowards.

I can clearly remember, O, Lord, on that un-fateful day of July 27, 2003 when 321 brave men in AFP uniform stormed Oakwood Hotel to show the Filipino people the corruption of the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo administration. Lord, these brave young men, led by LtSg. Antonio Trillanes and several other graduates of the Philippine Military Academy, called themselves the "Magdalo" group.

They said that they saw signs suggesting that the president was going to declare martial law. Their, the Magdalo's, bloodless mutiny ended unsuccessfully within 18 hours when the soldiers failed to rally support from the public or the armed forces.

How the hell can they rally support, Lord? When on the first place, they barricaded the periphery of the Oakwood Hotel with bombs! Stupid PMAers. How can the supporters go to them and protect them just like EDSA circa 1986?

I was never a fan of those ADVENTURERS (as what the pro-administration bigwigs in the military called them), Lord. Since 1986, the Mendiola Massacre up to the Honasan coups, the Filipino people especially in the central district of Metro Manila, never experienced bloodshed!

Filipinos are blood-thirsty people, Lord. You know that. We wanted death penalty and wanted the execution shown on TV when we know for a fact that our judiciary and law enforcement system is corrupt and sinful as they are now.

This wannabee Senator Honasan named Trillanes is a coward. He could ended that coup shooting that talkative ex-Marine commander and then Senator Pong Biazon instead of surrendering and talking about reforms now. Hay, Lord. Please... we do not need these people in the senate.

We have enough Lito Lapid, Bong Revilla, Jinggoy Estrada in the Senate. I could have wanted a Buboy or a Goma there than a Trillanes and a Honasan.

I love this country, O, Lord. Please. If our Comelec stains their hands again and make dagdag-bawas, let Trillanes and Honasan be the victims. Not Recto, not Koko, Not Migz...Oh, please. Give your Filipino people relief from cowards and self-centered individuals.

And, Lord, whoever voted for these cowards, please make them realize that all politicians think about themselves first before their countrymen, more so with cowards like them.

Of course, Lord, who would want to die in a mutiny to prove corruption in the govenrment? Not these men in uniform. That's why we are better off with movie stars in our political system than this PMAers, UP graduates, lawyers, economists and other supposed-to-be thinking individuals.

This I ask sincerely in Your Son's Name...

AMEN.

Dance

When I was 9, my music teacher told us that music is the language of the soul. Music is the universal language. Dance is an expression of your emotions.

Hmmm...

I am not a good dancer. My life-partner of 10 years, going 11 years, always tells me that I dance bad... Kadiri... Masagwa. Well, she is a good dancer. I always wanted to see her dance but I never had the chance to see her dance fully. I was never there during her company dance shows. Sad. But I know, she dances well. She dances great. She is very beautiful when she dance.

My youngest brother is a very good dancer. From classic to modern to metal to punk to hip-hop. He's good. Very good. One time in college, when I went home for a vacation, he even volunteered to teach me how to do the back-dive. With my big beer belly? Back-dive my ass.

When I am drunk, I dance. Dance till I fell down. When the music is so good. Dancing is no problem. Dancing is just 1-2-3.

Just listen to the music. Feel it. Sway to the music. Listen to what it says. Feel it. Just sway. Move slowly. Then when you got the feel of it... move... sway... clap. That's dancing.

In my previous company, we had this December party. Everyone on the floor, dancing, drunk. I was on the floor. Swaying, dancing... drunk but very happy. One pretty little girl pushed around everyone with me on the dance floor because she said she wanted to dance with me. Wow. I didn't realize that I got her attention because of my dancing. I was not good. I was just dancing. Listening and feeling the beat. Just swaying.

I want to dance. I want to forget my problems and burdens and just dance.

Dance ... but dancing is not complete without a partner. Dancing with that girl during our December party was something. Everyone's looking at us. Who the hell I was dancing with this girl?

Sorry, Boys... I just want to dance.

Let's dance again, baby.
